Distracted Fitness?

 Most people are aware that cell phones have made distracted driving in this country an epidemic. But are cell phones causing distracted fitness?

 

A person is working out in the gym, doing dumbbell biceps curls. They do 12 reps put down the weights and pick their cell phone and text their friends or get on Facebook, and then in another minute or two they do another 12 reps.

 

If you really want to get fit and in shape it requires Focus and Intensity. Distractions (TV, cell phones) not so much. If you can talk on the phone, read a magazine, or carry on a conversation in a normal tone of voice when you’re working out- You’re not working out!
